Class 1 Shunting Driver Wanted

Driver Hire Southampton is seeking an experienced Class 1 driver for shunting work at Southampton docks. This is a flexible opportunity for drivers looking for ad hoc shifts.

About the Role:

  • Position: Class 1 Shunting Driver
  • Location: Southampton docks
  • Schedule: Monday to Saturday, day shifts
  • Shift Hours: 6:00 am - 6:00 pm (12-hour shifts)
  • Contract: Ad hoc (0 hours)
  • Duties: Shunting containers (full training provided)

Requirements:

  • Licence: Full and valid Class 1
  • Certifications: CPC and Digi Tacho
  • Essential: DP World Card
  • Experience: 1 year of Class 1 driving (3+ months of container work preferred)
  • Skills: Strong timekeeping and communication
  • Transport: Own vehicle for commuting is a plus
