Job Summary
The Warehouse Team Leader will oversee the management of warehouse teams, ensuring all aspects of health and safety are monitored, company policies and procedures are enforced, and product is picked and dispatched to the highest standard in line with or exceeding key performance indicators (KPIs).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and motivate the shift team to ensure productivity and service KPIs are achieved or exceeded.
- Ensure the highest possible levels of health, safety, and hygiene are upheld, and relevant paperwork is completed and retained.
- Ensure all quality and compliance checks and controls are carried out, and the operational team works to the audit standard required.
- Deliver communication briefings to ensure all shifts are aware of company and local issues, and employees can offer input and improvements.
- Manage the Goods Inwards area to ensure receipts are made quickly and without damaging goods, so stock is available to satisfy orders.
- Develop all team members to maximize their contributions to the warehouse and succession plan.
- Carry out disciplinary and grievance interviews and investigations in line with company procedure.
- Monitor and control sickness absence levels in line with company policy and carry out return-to-work interviews effectively and efficiently.
- Monitor and control the time and attendance system.
- Ensure the appropriate levels of overtime and agency workers to efficiently and cost-effectively run the shift.
- Enforce and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and control training for teams, ensuring the correct amount of health and safety representation on shift, such as first aiders and fire marshals.
Requirements
- Computer literate with knowledge of Excel.
- Confident at dealing with people at all levels.
- Adaptable and methodical approach to work, training, and working hours.
- Conscientious and reliable.
- Excellent communication skills to deliver accurate information.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
- Effectively prioritize workload to meet set deadlines.
- Ability to work as part of a team or individually.
