Senior Airworthiness Engineer

Location: Warton - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

  • Ensure airworthiness certification for Development, Production and Export clearance programmes through independent assurance activities.
  • Collaborate with System Design Responsibility teams, Flight Operations and external customers to agree flight limitations.
  • Establish and produce Flight Certification (Military Permit to Fly) for Development and Production Aircraft.
  • Establish and produce Flight Certification (Release to Service) for Export Customers.
  • Conduct independent airworthiness assurance activities for emergent flight safety issues affecting Development aircraft, resulting in the issue of Flight Safety Procedures (Additional Flight Limitations/Flight Safety Messages) to Eurofighter Partner Company operators (Italy, Spain, Germany, UK).
  • Support the continuous development of BAE Systems and Eurofighter flight certification and design certification processes.
  • Represent Airworthiness at Typhoon project meetings, including support to external customer meetings.

Your skills and experiences:

  • Aircraft Avionic and Mechanical systems design and Aerodynamic disciplines.
  • Design configuration control processes.
  • Design certification (qualification and safety) and Airworthiness processes.
  • Aircraft operations.
  • Analytical methods to support establishing integrated aircraft level flight limitations.

The team covers current and future aircraft development activities assuring the type airworthiness of the product and its release into service across all customers.
