Job Summary

COWI is seeking a highly experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our Geotechnical Design team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading geotechnical design projects and collaborating with colleagues to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage geotechnical design projects from feasibility to detailed design, ensuring compliance with internal management systems and industry standards.
  • Act as CRE (Design) to manage discipline delivery through the Network Rail assurance process.
  • Supervise a team of engineers and technicians, mentoring and developing less experienced engineers.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships through project work, identifying and realizing business opportunities.
  • Assist with bid preparation and support business development initiatives.

Requirements

  • Chartered Engineer status with CGeol or CEng (or equivalent).
  • MSc in Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Significant experience in rail, tunnelling, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience working in a railway design and build environment.
  • Evidence of CRE(Discipline) roles under the Engineering Management for Project standard.
  • Familiarity with Eurocodes and CDM Regulations.
  • Broad capability in geotechnical design, including earthworks, retaining structures, and foundations.
