About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Independent Reviewing Officer to join our Safeguarding and Reviews Service. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and safety of children in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Chair child protection conferences in accordance with SET Child Protection Procedures and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
  • Review cases of children who are looked after and make informed decisions to confirm their care plans.
  • Monitor progress of plans for children between CLA Reviews and Child Protection Conferences to ensure their needs are being met.
Requirements

To be successful in this position, you must have:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • Statutory local authority children's services experience.
  • Experience of improving outcomes for children who are being harmed, including those who experience domestic abuse and chronic neglect.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, and the ability to organise and manage a varied workload.
