About the Role

As a key member of our multidisciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for overseeing the electrical systems that provide power and controls to our process treatment equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end process of a project/programme life cycle from an electrical perspective
  • Deploy clear design phases for projects, including collecting design requirements, feasibility, detailed design, production planning, installation, and commissioning
  • Gather data and use it to aid your projects
  • Communicate and drive adherence to Electrical Engineering Standards and Specifications for assets and components that are produced
  • Participate in design workshops and collaborate with mechatronic, electrical, and mechanical engineers to ensure a holistic view of how things are designed and deployed
  • Provide insights on system constraints and innovative solutions for deployment and maintenance of new assets
  • Develop methods and protocols for the safe operation and maintenance of our assets
  • Support the R&D team in best practices for managing electrical risks and voltage applications within experimental settings
  • Implement data-driven strategies for improving system efficiency and reliability
  • Develop and deliver training programs for staff on electrical safety and emergency response procedures
  • Guide team members and support knowledge transfer on electrical systems and best practices

Requirements

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on electrical safety, system design, power management, and appropriate material selections
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical safety standards (e.g., IGEM, BSI PAS)
  • Familiarity with deploying assets in outside environments, microbial electrolysis cells, water electrolysis cells, and fuel cells a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
