Port Health Team Leader

The City of London Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Port Health Team Leader to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of imported food control work at London Gateway, one of the largest Border Control Posts in Great Britain.
This role requires excellent leadership skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and develop high performing teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in conducting Official Controls and checks upon imports of products of animal origin (POAO), illegal unreported and unregulated fishing, high risk food and feed not of animal origin (HRNAO).
A salary of approximately £62,350 per annum inclusive of all allowances is offered for this position. The successful candidate will also be required to travel to other ports nearby, including Denton, Purfleet, Sheerness, Tilbury 1 and 2, and Thamesport.
The working hours are on a rotating shift pattern, with shifts from early morning to late evening, Monday to Friday. Weekend shifts may be required once every 8 weeks. A full driving licence and own transport are essential for this role.
We are looking for a proactive and dynamic individual who can play a key role in problem solving and developing new ideas and initiatives for the Port Health service.
