The University of Central Lancashire is seeking a skilled engineer to join our Knowledge Transfer Partnership project as a Senior Electronics and Animal Biomechanics Specialist. This role offers an opportunity to play a key part in developing next-generation wearable technology for animals.

You will use your expertise in electronics, simulation tools, and animal welfare to contribute to the design, prototyping, and testing of custom wearable devices that set new benchmarks in animal performance and well-being.

This position provides a unique chance to work at the forefront of engineering and animal biomechanics, aiming to develop technology with immediate applications and long-term impact.

You will be part of a team dedicated to innovation and societal impact through applied research.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Proficiency in ANSYS, MATLAB, and prototyping for real-world testing
  • A passion for engineering and animal welfare, with a focus on practical applications
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with industry partners and academic supervisors
  • A good honours degree (2:1 or above) in Mechatronics engineering

The successful candidate will be a proactive team player who is eager to work on innovative solutions, comfortable working across interdisciplinary teams, and adaptable to diverse stakeholder requirements.

We offer a salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per year, depending on experience.
