Job Title: Mechanical Technician

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our client's manufacturing team. As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Manufacturing production components and jigs
  • Maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring all company and regulatory standards are met
  • Contributing to continuous improvement through the identification, reporting, and resolution of non-conformance to products and materials
  • Performing manual and CNC machining, turning, milling, and surface grinding
  • Assembling and fitting precision tools
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Creating fixtures and work-holding devices and tools as needed
  • Conducting full mechanical inspections with the aid of a CMM
  • Programming CNC machines and using CAD/CAM systems
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A formal apprenticeship in Toolmaking or Fitter Turner, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of CNC machining
  • ONC-HNC in mechanical engineering (advantageous)
  • Competence in the use of engineering machinery, including milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, and CNC machines
  • Ability to program CNC machines through MDI or using CAD/CAM
  • Background in inspection
