Dundee, Dundee City, United Kingdom NHS Scotland Full time

NHS Scotland is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce, eliminating unlawful discrimination, and promoting equality of opportunity. Our goal is to create a truly representative workforce where each employee feels valued and empowered to contribute their best.

This role offers a unique opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and supervisory experience across various rotations, including Respiratory, Orthopaedics, Acute Medicine, Neurosciences, Community Rehabilitation, and Musculoskeletal Outpatients. As a Band 6 Physiotherapist, you will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality care to patients at Ninewells Hospital Major Trauma Centre.

This is an exciting time to join our Physiotherapy team as we continue to expand and develop our services. You will have the potential to enhance your knowledge and skills in a fast-paced environment, focusing on evidence-based assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation, early supported discharge, multi-professional integrated working, and continued professional development. The post holder will deliver physiotherapy interventions, develop therapeutic programs, and discharge pathways to meet the needs of patients referred to the service.

You should have high-level clinical skills and knowledge, as evidenced in your continued professional development portfolio, with comprehensive knowledge of best practice, clinical guidelines, and standards across the specialties. You will have a caseload incorporating patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge, with responsibility for supervising, educating, and developing junior staff, physiotherapy support workers, and students within the specialty. You will also provide a specialized resource to other healthcare staff, patients, and carers, and be actively involved in Clinical Governance and Clinical Effectiveness and research.

This role will require some weekend working, in line with the evidence base and the strategic direction of NHS Tayside, to improve patient outcomes and maximize a person-centered, equitable approach to care. You will also undertake respiratory on-call duties, after a period of training and supported induction, in line with local respiratory training standards.

Informal enquiries can be made to Gillian Crighton, Physiotherapy Manager, Ninewells Hospital. Hours of work are 37 per week.

Short-listed applicants will be contacted by email. Please check your emails regularly, including your junk/spam folder.
