Product Design Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Product Design Engineer to join our team at Careers in Design. As a Product Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in value engineering existing ranges and progressing customer designs through to production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop new products, update existing ones, and create bespoke customer designs
  • Utilize 3D modeling, 2D technical drawings, instructions, and product data management to drive product development
  • Lead prototyping and testing efforts to ensure product quality and compliance
  • Manage projects and solve problems effectively, ensuring all products meet European and US standards
  • Communicate product information to other departments, ensuring smooth implementation
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a design engineer, with a proven track record in technical design and problem-solving
  • Previous experience in individual and team working environments
  • Fluency in 2D and 3D CAD (Solid Edge / SolidWorks)
  • Excellent communication skills and commercial awareness
  • Knowledge of plastic and other materials for manufacturing
What We Offer:

A competitive starting salary from £27k to £37k per annum (negotiable depending on experience) and 24 days' holidays plus bank holidays.
