About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Lounge. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional food quality and service standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and engage the kitchen team to deliver high-quality food and excellent service standards.
  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Ensure the kitchen is run efficiently and safely, with a focus on health and safety, hygiene, and food safety.
  • Manage stock levels, inventory, and ordering to minimize waste and optimize resources.
  • Develop and implement training programs for kitchen staff to improve skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to achieve business objectives and improve customer satisfaction.

Requirements
  • Experience as a Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef/Assistant Kitchen Manager.
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, including food preparation, presentation, and safety.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire the kitchen team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly.
  • Knowledge of KPIs and labor forecasting, with the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with stakeholders, including Ops Chefs and Ops Managers.
