Position Overview

Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People is seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 6 Assistant Nursing Manager to join our compassionate and committed nursing team. Role Responsibilities

As a Band 6 Assistant Nursing Manager, you will oversee a small team, identifying training and development needs through performance reviews. You will provide clinical leadership on a shift-by-shift basis and act as Shift Coordinator when necessary, taking charge of decisions and staff management during your shifts.

Core Duties Include:

  • Fostering teamwork principles throughout the shift
  • Supporting the Lead Nurse and Head of Hospice in promoting the organization's vision and values
  • Planning and delivering care for children and young people with complex health needs
  • Collaborating with families to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care
  • Providing exemplary short break, palliative, and end-of-life care in a family-oriented environment
  • Ensuring compliance with local and national policies in all procedures

Qualifications and Experience:

To be considered for the Band 6 Assistant Nursing Manager position, you must be a qualified RSCN/RN (Child Branch)/RNLD/RGN with a minimum of three years of post-registration experience. Experience working with children and young people (0-25 years) with complex needs is essential.

While experience in palliative care is preferred, we offer specialized training and development opportunities. Strong communication skills and a commitment to high standards of clinical care are crucial. Further details regarding qualifications can be found in the Person Specification.
