Independent Living Coach for Young Adults

At Horizon Care and Education, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Independent Living Coach to join our team. This rewarding role will involve working closely with unaccompanied asylum seeking children and care leavers to support them in achieving their goals and living independently.
About the Role:
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about empowering young people to take control of their lives. As an Independent Living Coach, you will be responsible for providing guidance, support, and encouragement to our young clients as they navigate the challenges of independent living. This may involve helping them to develop life skills, access education and training opportunities, and build positive relationships with their community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with young people, understanding their individual needs and goals
- Provide guidance and support to help young people develop essential life skills, such as budgeting, cooking, and time management
- Help young people to access education and training opportunities, including vocational courses and apprenticeships
- Assist young people in building positive relationships with their community, including friends, family, and local services
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers and teachers, to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting young people
- Document and record progress, identifying areas for improvement and celebrating successes
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need: A strong desire to support young people in achieving their goals and living independently Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with young people from diverse backgrounds A patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a willingness to share knowledge and expertise A strong understanding of the importance of confidentiality and data protection, with the ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records
