Job Description

Purpose of the Role

To support the organisation's strategic objectives by identifying business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Identify and analyse business problems and client requirements that necessitate change within the organisation.
  2. Develop business requirements that address business problems and opportunities.
  3. Support the creation of business cases that justify investment in proposed solutions.
  4. Support the creation of reports on project progress to ensure proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  5. Support change management activities, including the development of a traceability matrix to ensure proposed solutions are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.

Vice President Expectations

  1. Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
  2. Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  3. Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
  4. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the organisation's functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.
  5. Collaborate with other areas of work, for business-aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.
  6. Seek out, build, and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish key business objectives, using influencing and negotiating skills to achieve outcomes.

About the Role

As a Lead Data Business Analyst at Barclays, you will spearhead the evolution of our data landscape, driving innovation and excellence. You will be part of an innovative team focused on data democratization and the development of a cutting-edge Data Marketplace. You will play a crucial role in defining end-to-end user journeys, gathering requirements, and driving the implementation of solutions that enable access to data and insights across the organisation.

Requirements

  1. Proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar role, with a focus on data-driven projects, data democratization, or data marketplace initiatives.
  2. Strong understanding of data management concepts on cloud platforms, data governance principles, and data access and security requirements.
  3. Experience defining end-to-end user journeys, workflows, and business processes, and translating business requirements into actionable technical specifications.
  4. Proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools, such as Scrum, Kanban, JIRA, or similar.
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex data sets, identify patterns, trends, and insights, and derive actionable recommendations.
  6. Familiarity with data integration tools and technologies, such as ETL/ELT processes, APIs, and data pipelines.
  7. Knowledge of data analytics and machine learning concepts.
  8. Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
