About the Role
University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our nursery staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to our young children.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging and stimulating activities that promote the cognitive, social, and emotional development of children aged 3 months to 5 years.
- Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a safe and nurturing environment.
- Collaborate with the nursery team to plan and deliver a curriculum that meets the needs of all children.
- Monitor and record children's progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and developing strategies to support their development.
- Work closely with the nursery SENDco to support children with additional needs and ensure their development is promoted as fully as possible.
- Ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to, and escalate any concerns or issues to the Duty Manager and/or management team.
Requirements
- A good standard of secondary education with literacy and numeracy skills demonstrable to GCSE pass level or equivalent standard.
- A willingness and ability to undertake Food Safety training.
- A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years Qualification (in accordance with ) or above.
- Able to provide relevant activity ideas and ability to care for children.
- Demonstrates an enthusiastic approach to working with children and learning practically within nursery.
- Recent previous experiences of working with 3 months - 5-year-olds within a childcare setting.
