We're seeking a talented Scientist to join our Applications team, where you'll play a key role in evaluating additives in Coatings, Inks, and Composites applications. Your technical expertise will be instrumental in interpreting and analyzing analytical and performance data.

About the Role

As a Scientist, you'll be responsible for:

  • Designing and undertaking evaluations of different additive technologies in coatings and composites to meet defined business needs.
  • Deciding how projects should proceed using logic, experience, and creativity to meet agreed timelines.
  • Documenting, interpreting, and communicating results to colleagues and internal project sponsors.
  • Presenting scientific data at internal and external meetings.
  • Contributing to other areas of importance, such as Sustainability and outreach activities.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Science A Levels, BTEC, or equivalent laboratory experience in chemistry.
  • Ability to apply scientific understanding to experiment planning.
  • Good communication, team working, and interpersonal skills to thrive in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Good project management skills, with experience of managing multiple projects to deadlines.
  • Good IT skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Chemdraw or equivalent.
Preferred Experience

While not essential, experience with:

  • Operating equipment for milling, mixing, or compounding.
  • Making rheological measurements of solutions or pastes.
  • Formulating and coating films onto substrates.
  • Conducting mechanical tests to evaluate new polymer-composite materials.
