About the Role
Shaw Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse to join our team at Surehaven Glasgow, a 21-bedded low secure hospital providing care to individuals with severe and enduring mental illness.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to residents, assessing their needs and developing services to enhance their quality of life
- Champion independence and personal choice, developing and reviewing care plans to meet residents' physical, social, and psychological needs
- Oversee medicine management, ensuring medicines are received, stored, and administered in accordance with company policies and legislation
- Build a positive reputation for the business, liaising with visitors and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and best practice guidelines, identifying and resolving risks proactively
- Support and mentor others in line with the NMC Code
Requirements
- Ability to lead a team, analyse problems, and propose solutions or improvements
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills
- Understanding and use of IT and communication systems required for the role
- Respect for the values, views, and needs of others
- Able to work under pressure and prioritise workload
- Experience in delivering nursing care within elderly healthcare
- Participation in quality and clinical governance programmes
