We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) professional to join our team as Group HSE Director. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for setting the HSE policy frameworks and standards that are fit for purpose for our diverse generating technologies, businesses, and regions.
You will ensure the delivery of HSE compliance and oversight across the Group, creating an effective HSE governance capability to monitor performance and verify standards of compliance. This role will also set the overall direction for the Drax Group in terms of HSE performance, encompassing personal or workplace safety, process safety, and environmental performance.
You will be accountable for establishing an HSE improvement strategy, a refresh of the OneSafeDrax vision, management of group-wide HSE internal audit, and creating suitable management system components to develop oversight and governance of the HSE risks across the company.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement HSE policy frameworks and standards
- Ensure HSE compliance and oversight across the Group
- Establish an HSE improvement strategy and refresh the OneSafeDrax vision
- Manage group-wide HSE internal audit
- Create suitable management system components for HSE governance
We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled HSE professional with significant leadership experience, specifically within HSE. You will also have a background working within a highly regulated, capital-intensive process industry, including operations, maintenance, engineering, and project management.
Experience operating within a PLC/Listed business at senior Executive level is strongly preferred, with the ability to build credible relationships with ExCom and Board members. Ideally, you will be educated to degree level in a technical or scientific discipline and hold a postgraduate qualification in management or business.
Candidates with different qualifications and relevant experience will be considered on merit. Experience of managing large-scale cultural transformation would be advantageous.
What We OfferWe offer a competitive salary of £150,000 - £190,000 per annum, discretionary bonus based on company performance, 25 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays), pension scheme, and Share Scheme.
