Our team is passionate about creating a post-fossil fuel society, and we're seeking a skilled Carbon Capture Engineer to join our journey. As a key member of our team, you will lead the development and optimization of our carbon capture process, preparing for scale-up efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Design and commission carbon capture and mineral handling processes to support technology development
- Plan and oversee scale-up of equipment from lab to pilot and commercial scales
- Apply expertise in engineering to enhance process efficiency and productivity
- Analyse process kinetics for various environmental conditions and processing parameters
- Model and understand airflow and water evaporation interactions to determine optimal humidity levels
- Simulate chemical reactions and processes to evaluate performance and feasibility
- Conduct experiments to validate reaction chemistry and process design
- Design and oversee equipment selection, sourcing, construction, installation, and operation
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to troubleshoot and develop innovative solutions
- Perform data analysis and interpretation to identify trends and patterns
- Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate results and progress
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including SOPs and technical specifications
- Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvements
- Implement and adhere to safety and environmental regulations
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial research, developing and optimizing processes
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a pilot plant, manufacturing environment, or other industrial setting
- Previous experience in cement, concrete, paints, coatings, minerals, mining, pharmaceutical production, food processing, carbon capture, or a related field
- Knowledge of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and process control
- Strong understanding of process design methodologies and unit operations
- Ability to develop safe and economical processes for multiphase material handling and separation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and project management skills
