About the Role
Mencap is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in Derry/Londonderry. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities, providing emotional support and assisting with daily activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care and support to individuals with learning disabilities
- Assist with daily activities, including personal care and medication management
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with service users and their families
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care
- Support individuals to access community resources and activities
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individualised care plans
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities
- Full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle
