Job Title: Lead Animator

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Animator to join our team at 2K. As a key member of our animation team, you will be responsible for leading the development of high-quality animation systems and tools for our AAA games.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and optimize animation pipelines and procedures.
  • Design and implement animation tools and systems for artists and animators.
  • Work with engineers to integrate final and intermediate rigs in-game.
  • Setup and manage Animation Source data, including Data Assets, Overlays, Character Templates, etc.
  • Communicate with Design and Engineering to anticipate and advise on animation-related technical issues.
  • Work closely with engineers to setup and implement game animation systems, such as locomotion and state Blueprints, ensuring project performance.
Requirements:
  • Solid experience working with animation game systems.
  • Experience managing and updating animation pipeline tools.
  • Strong creative and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Degree in Computer Animation, Computer Science, or related experience.
  • Comfortable with industry-standard scripting languages such as Python and DCC languages. C++ or C# a plus.
  • Experience building animation systems such as Animation Blueprints, Mecanim, Morpheme, or comparable systems.
  • At least one shipped AAA game.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Comfortable with version control software, particularly Perforce.
  • Familiar with asset/task tracking clients like JIRA and Shotgun.
  • Familiar with widely used animation techniques.
