About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Duty Manager to join our team at YHA Canterbury. As a key member of our operational team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our hostel.

As a Duty Manager, you will be the first point of contact for guests and will be responsible for managing the front desk, handling customer inquiries, and resolving any issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the front desk and handle customer inquiries
  • Resolve any issues that may arise with guests or staff
  • Assist with the management of the hostel's operational budget
  • Ensure that the hostel is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and organization
  • Assist with the training and development of new staff members
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in the hospitality industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Food Safety Level 2 and APLH Level 2 qualifications desirable
