About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Drama Teacher to join our team at Wayman Group. As a Drama Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering creativity and self-expression through the world of performing arts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging Drama lessons to students in Primary and Secondary education levels, utilizing a range of teaching methods and techniques to cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Foster a creative and inclusive learning environment, encouraging students to develop their confidence, communication skills, and teamwork abilities through drama techniques and activities.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement a well-rounded performing arts curriculum, ensuring a cohesive and comprehensive education for students.
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Organize and direct school performances, showcasing students' talents and achievements in a professional and engaging manner.
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment, promoting equality and diversity, and adhering to the highest standards of teaching and learning.
  • Liaise with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on students' progress and involving them in their child's educational journey.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Drama or a related field, with a strong emphasis on teaching and learning.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a proven track record of teaching Drama in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of drama pedagogy and contemporary performance practices, with the ability to adapt to changing educational landscapes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Passion for drama education and the empowerment it can bring to students, with a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Ability to effectively manage a classroom and differentiate instruction to meet students' individual needs, with a focus on student-centered learning.
