Aseptic Unit Technician

Job Summary
University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking dedicated and organised individuals to join their pharmacy aseptic unit as Pharmacy Assistants.
Applicants should possess good communication and organisational skills, be self-motivated, and have excellent interpersonal skills. Flexibility and the ability to work well in an environment of change and transition are also essential.
Responsibilities include working under the supervision of aseptic unit workload Co-ordinators, technicians, or pharmacists to dispense aseptically prepared items. Applicants must be willing to learn and take responsibility, working well within a diverse team to provide high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients.
Main Responsibilities
- To dispense aseptically prepared items in line with aseptic Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
- To assist with manufacturing processes within the aseptic unit, as required.
- To receive clinically verified work requests from clinics and wards, provide information on drug dispatch, and answer basic queries.
- To support the clinical verification process, obtaining and organising prescriptions for pharmacists to screen.
- To maintain clean and tidy work areas, adhere to SOPs, and participate in stock rotation and ordering.
- To assist with basic clerical duties, including filing and photocopying.
- To work flexibly across pharmacy departments, covering colleagues during peak periods or absence.
