Lead Pharmacist Opportunity

We are seeking a Lead Pharmacist Medicines Management position at the Western Eye Hospital (WEH) and Charing Cross Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity for a specialist pharmacist to lead the ophthalmology department's clinical pharmacy services.

About the Department

The ophthalmology department is a leading service provider for West London, with an emergency department offering a 24-hour service, 7 days a week. We see over 5,000 outpatients a month and provide a tertiary referral service for the region.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop a specialist role as a pharmacist in ophthalmology, supporting the WEH dispensary operationally and clinically.
  • Contribute to medicines management, including managing stock inventories as per service needs.
  • Participate in the procurement of specialist medicines used in ophthalmology.
  • Deliver clinical pharmacy, departmental, and ward-based services.
  • Provide education and training to staff.
Requirements
  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent qualification.
  • Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent qualification.
  • Continuing professional development (CPD) and maintenance of a CPD portfolio.
  • Performance and Development Review (PDR) Training.
Experience and Skills
  • Appropriate post-registration training and experience in hospital pharmacy.
  • Multidisciplinary team working experience.
  • Able to recommend, substantiate, and communicate therapeutic options for patients.
  • Delivering education and training experience.
  • Surgical or high-dependency ward experience.
  • Electronic prescribing system experience.
Estimated Salary

£70,000 - £90,000 per annum.
