About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as Deputy Head of Specialist Services. As a key member of our commissioning function, you will provide operational and quality oversight, working closely with our Head of Service and Senior Case Managers to ensure safe and effective care pathways for service users in specialist mental health, learning disability, and autism care settings.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Deputise for the Head of Service and provide leadership and senior pathway advice to support the quality of care and experience for service users.
  2. Work closely with Senior Case Managers to maintain a strong quality and safety monitoring and oversight function for all specialist services within our organisation.
  3. Support the business in driving transformation and value for money in planning, commissioning, and service delivery.
  4. Maintain a deep understanding of current healthcare policy and its implications on engagement, as well as the relationship between the Department of Health and individual provider and commissioning organisations.

Requirements

  • Evidence of post-qualifying and continuing professional development.
  • Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this on engagement.
  • Must have an appreciation of the relationship between the Department of Health and individual provider and commissioning organisations.
