About the Role

The Principal Mechanical Engineer will lead the development of mechanical engineering systems, equipment, and components for nuclear submarines, working closely with the Mechanical Engineering Discipline group.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled engineer to progress their career and contribute to the delivery of complex projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement mechanical engineering solutions that meet the demanding requirements of the product.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop and capture equipment and component specifications.
  • Work closely with customers to develop requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Perform and review engineering calculations and analysis to inform decision-making.
  • Coordinate and manage a wide stakeholder base to solve complex engineering problems.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Mechanical engineering degree and relevant industry experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex engineering projects.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Capacity to solve complex engineering calculations.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software and tools.
Benefits

A competitive salary range of £52,000 - £60,000 per annum, plus benefits including overtime pay, 14% pension scheme, 25 days' annual leave, and free shares.
