Higher Level Teaching Assistant Job Summary

The Learn Academies Trust is seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work at Hope Hamilton Primary School. The school's emphasis is on excellence, excitement, and challenge. Children are encouraged to become independent, creative learners who also respect and care for others. We welcome and celebrate the diverse beliefs and backgrounds of the children, ensuring that developing their understanding of these is an implicit part of the everyday life of the school.

This role is for 32.5 hours per week (term time plus 1 week of training days) and is a permanent contract of employment. You will be working Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3.25pm plus one staff meeting each week (finishing at 4.30pm).

They will be driven to providing bespoke support to offer each and every student the opportunity to reach their full potential, both academically and emotionally.

The ability to plan, teach, and assess will be key to success in this role.

About You

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are an absolute necessity. The ability to listen to and converse with children, parents/carers, school staff, and external agencies is the key skill required to devise and deliver the appropriate support.

Attention to detail is required, as accurate record-keeping must be undertaken. This must be supported by experience of working to Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards. IT skills are also necessary, although full training in school software will be provided.
