We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated social worker to join our Special Guardianship and Connected Carers team as part of our Fostering Service.

The successful candidate will work closely with prospective carers, assessing and supporting them to provide stable homes for children in need.

This involves regular visits and reflection on children's presentation and behaviours, linking these to attachment, secure base, and trauma-related theory.

The social worker will also assess the carer's capacity to care for the child, manage contact, and balance competing relationships or identify potential difficulties in the future.

In addition, the role requires ensuring that DBS and medical checks are completed and working closely with the child's social worker to assess wider familial support.

The successful candidate will provide a recommendation about the carer's capacity, following the legal framework required to sustain the placement, and develop a detailed plan of support.
