Job Opportunity: Special Needs Teaching Assistant in Barnstaple

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant in Barnstaple. As a key member of our educational team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN in the classroom, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement tailored learning plans, ensuring each student receives the necessary support to succeed.
  • Assist with students' academic, social, and emotional development, fostering a sense of confidence and independence.
  • Establish supportive relationships with students, helping to build their self-esteem and motivation.
  • Provide assistance with personal or medical care needs, when required, in a sensitive and respectful manner.
Requirements:
  • A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to working with children with SEN.
  • Experience working with SEN students is desirable but not essential; what is essential is a willingness to learn and adapt to meet the needs of our students.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the changing needs of our students and the school.
