Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist

Join our team of dedicated professionals at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant Psychiatrist. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients in the community, while also contributing to the development of our broader Older Adult team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Undertake assessments of referrals and admissions to the service, diagnosing and formulating management plans in complex presentations.
  • Provide management in treatment-resistant and complex presentations, assessing and managing risk, including vulnerability, suicide risk, and risks to health and safety.
  • Prepare Mental Health Review Tribunal and Managers' Hearings reports and attend subsequent hearings.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including external partners, and lead clinical decision-making to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
  • Develop service clinical priorities in line with national and professional guidance and standards, engaging with service transformation programmes.
  • Provide clinical supervision for trainees, gaining core psychiatric experience and achieving competencies in core general psychiatry.
