About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join our team at Vistry South East Midlands. As a key member of our site management team, you will be responsible for supporting the Project Manager and Site Manager in the day-to-day control of the site, management and delivery of project works, and day-to-day management and delivery of a larger-scale housing project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager and Site Manager in the day-to-day control of the site, management and delivery of project works, and day-to-day management and delivery of a larger-scale housing project.
  • Manage and deliver project works, including procurement, contractors, and quality control.
  • Ensure the successful completion of the overall project, leading by example in all aspects of the role, including time, quality, procurement, and contractors.
  • Manage sub-contractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and progress, providing direct instruction and support as necessary to achieve contractual arrangements.
  • Follow Vistry site procedures and maintain all daily, weekly, and monthly site paperwork to ensure audit compliance.
  • Involved in the management of internal/external design teams/consultants to meet project deadlines under supervision from a Contract Manager.
  • Produce and regularly review short-term programmes in line with the overall project programme to ensure completion on time under the supervision of a Contract Manager.
  • Ensure detailed plans are available commensurate with the overall project plan to deliver materials/resources/supply chain to meet scheduled deadlines.
  • Appreciate the commercial implications and drivers within the construction process and incorporate these into decision-making, working closely with the project Surveyor.
  • Liaise with the Contract Manager to ensure they are fully aware of project progress and notified of all financial, specification, and time risks, ensuring all additional work is identified.
