About the Role

Ocado Group is seeking a Product Safety Specialist to ensure compliance with National and International standards for new products developed by the company and its external partners. The ideal candidate will have technical proficiency in Mechanical and Electrical machinery safety, experience with external regulatory bodies, and knowledge of European Directives and Standards.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure products and systems meet appropriate safety & regulatory compliance requirements
Provide regulatory guidance and support to development teams and other key stakeholders
Plan and manage compliance activities, including periodic reporting to stakeholders
Conduct product safety evaluations or manage outsourced product testing/certification as required
Review existing and emerging legislation for potential impacts and propose compliance plans
Perform and coordinate hazard and risk assessments for new product designs
Compile and maintain technical files for certification and regulatory compliance
Review and approve safety-related information prepared for manufacturing, end-users, and service personnel
Prepare compliance reports for product certification, regulatory bodies, and management as required

Requirements

Technical proficiency in Mechanical and Electrical machinery safety
Experience interfacing with external regulatory bodies/certification agencies
Knowledge of European Directives and Standards pertaining to automated machinery and robotics
Ability to support Mechanical and Electrical Design engineers in designing appropriate safety systems and safety architecture
Ability to lead task and design-based risk assessments
Ability to create system test and validation plans
