Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fabric Operative / Prison Escort to join our team at HMP Highdown. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the prison.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, minor carpentry, decorating, plumbing, and grounds work.
  • Work to deadlines and stay calm under pressure.
  • Escort contractors and visitors throughout the prison while following security protocols.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.

Requirements

  • Confidence in using a range of power tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Experience of working in a compliance-driven environment.
  • Compassionate and calm nature.
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and people skills.
