End Point Assessor

Role Overview
Pearson is seeking an experienced and qualified individual to fill the role of End-Point Assessor for our Play Worker L2 Apprenticeship. As an End-Point Assessor, you will be responsible for assessing the competence of apprentices in this field, ensuring they meet the rigorous standards set by employers.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in regular training and standardisation activities to ensure accuracy and consistency in assessment
- Maintain and provide evidence of ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to stay up-to-date with industry developments
- Assess candidate performance in accordance with published assessment and grading criteria, ensuring overall standards are maintained
- Follow protocols set out in Pearson's specifications, assessment materials, and quality assurance protocols
- Collaborate with employers and providers to schedule end-point assessments and maintain service-level agreements
- Report any risks or issues encountered during the assessment process to Pearson, including suspected malpractice/maladministration
- Ensure high-quality EPA reports and assessment evidence are recorded accurately
- Support Pearson with appeals from apprentices regarding assessment decisions
- Allow additional time for travel when making EPA arrangements
- Identify and manage conflicts of interest to maintain independence in assessment
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Pearson's end-point assessment activities
Requirements
- Hold a current DBS certificate
- Have worked in the industry within the last 2 years
- Hold a recognised assessor's qualification and preferably experience as a play work assessor
- Experience of leading meetings, structured interviews, and discussions
- Experience of complying with quality assurance and regulatory requirements
- Evidence of commitment to maintaining CPD, in line with new apprenticeship requirements and the EPA specialism
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution
- In-depth knowledge of the Play Worker L2 apprenticeship standard, assessment plan, and specification
- Able to assess free from bias and report risks accurately
- Able to meet deadlines and contribute to continuous improvement
