Climate Change Policy Analyst/Consultant

The World Bank Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Climate Change Policy and Economic Development Specialist to join its team in Washington, D.C. or Malaysia. As a member of the East Asia and Pacific Chief Economist's Office, the successful candidate will provide support to the team in translating complex economic concepts into accessible content for general audiences, coordinating events, and building linkages with other research institutions and think tanks in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and deliver events, such as report launches, conferences, and seminars, working with EAPCE economists, ECREA, and IT support.
- Develop accessible economic content, including blog posts, research briefs, executive summaries, data visualizations, and conference materials, from EAPCE knowledge products.
- Build and maintain linkages with other research institutions in the region, including universities, think tanks, and international organizations, in consultation with ECREA.
Requirements:
- Master's degree with two years of professional experience, or Bachelor's degree with five years of professional experience, in a relevant field (economics, finance, public policy, business administration, development studies, communications, or international relations).
- Excellent written and spoken command of English.
- Ability to think innovatively and propose new ways of doing things.
- Proven experience turning specialized economic content into accessible material for a non-specialist audience.
- Good time-management skills and eye for detail.
- Good level of initiative, judgment, and decisiveness in accomplishing tasks.
- Strong ability to work capably with minimal supervision under stress and to juggle multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
- Strong diplomatic, interpersonal, and collaboration skills; sensitivity to working in a multicultural environment.
