Main Responsibilities:


As a Technical Operator Apprentice, you will be responsible for the technical production of media content, ensuring that it reaches the audience in the best possible quality.

  • Camera operations
  • Sound operations
  • Technical directing
  • Shoot and edit multi-skilled operator
  • Picture and audio editing
  • Ingest and library functions

What You Will Study:


You will study for your industry-recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on and off the job. This involves attending blocks of teaching at the NFTS throughout the apprenticeship, with access to their industry-standard facilities and industry experts.

Eligibility:



  • Be aged 18 or over when the apprenticeship starts
  • Have Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or equivalent qualification
  • Not have completed or hold qualifications in the apprenticeship subject at the same or higher level

As a Technical Operator Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from TV and radio production to online content creation. You will be working alongside experienced professionals, learning new skills and gaining valuable experience in the industry.
