Academic Support Specialist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning Support Professional to join the Additional Learning Support team at West Herts College, providing support for students with diverse learning needs.
The role involves supporting learners at our Hemel and Watford campuses, focusing on classroom assistance and collaboration with teaching staff to cater to the needs of students with disabilities or learning difficulties.
Some knowledge of Education Health Care Plans (EHCP) and gathering information for annual review meetings would be beneficial.
To be successful in this role, you must possess excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively within a team, and maintain accurate records. A learner-focused approach is essential, as you will be involved in creating individual support strategies and working collaboratively with curriculum-based colleagues.
An understanding of the specific educational needs of students with disabilities within a Further Education (FE) setting is desirable, but a proven enthusiasm for this area of work is crucial for this opportunity.
Key responsibilities include:

West Herts College offers a competitive salary package, commensurate with qualifications and experience, ranging from £22,000 - £28,000 per annum.
