About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team at Excelcare Holdings. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents, working closely with our Care Assistants to ensure outstanding care is delivered at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside and mentor a team of Care Assistants to ensure high-quality care is delivered
  • Report to the Home Manager and work directly with ancillary teams and other Senior Care Assistants
  • Engage in meaningful activities with residents, promoting independence, choice, dignity, and respect
  • Contribute to creating person-centred care plans and risk assessments, ensuring regular updates and reviews
Requirements
  • Two years' experience as a Care Assistant or Senior Care Assistant with an NVQ 2/3 qualification in Health and Social Care, or three years' experience without an NVQ
  • Experience in a nursing or care home, or as a home care worker
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks, including the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
  • Desirable: knowledge and practice of working with people suffering from dementia, and experience prompting/administering medication using an electronic e-MAR system
