Job Title: Japanese Cuisine Service Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Restaurant Assistant Manager to lead our new Japanese ramen restaurant in Central London.

Salary:

GBP 32,000 - 34,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality management, with expertise in staff management, customer service, and operations management.

Responsibilities:

  1. Staff Management:
  2. Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations to ensure excellent results.
  3. Recruit, train, and retain top talent, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  4. Address staff concerns, conflicts, and disciplinary issues promptly, maintaining a fair and consistent approach.

Customer Service:

Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging with guests, resolving complaints, and creating a memorable dining experience.Monitor and maintain service quality and standards, driving continuous improvement and innovation.

Operations Management:

Oversee daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal efficiency.Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food and beverage costs, minimizing waste and maximizing profits.Implement health and safety regulations and maintain a clean, safe environment, adhering to all licensing and food safety requirements.

Menu and Food Quality:

Collaborate with the chef or kitchen staff to create and update the menu, ensuring consistency and excellence in food quality.Ensure the quality and consistency of food and beverage offerings, regularly sampling and evaluating dishes.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A proven track record as a restaurant manager or in a similar role.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • A strong understanding of restaurant operations, including inventory management and financial control.
  • Knowledge of the food and beverage industry, staying up-to-date with trends and best practices.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, making quick decisions and adapting to changing situations.
  • Strong customer service orientation, with a focus on delivering exceptional experiences.
  • Proficiency in restaurant management software and MS Office.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • Certification in food handling and safety is a plus.
