Job Title: Digital Archivist

The UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO) is seeking a highly skilled Digital Archivist to join its Archive team in Taunton. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing, preserving, and organizing digital materials such as electronic records, photographs, videos, and audio recordings according to established accredited standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies for long-term preservation and access of digital archives
  • Organize digital collections and metadata, creating and maintaining databases, managing digital storage systems
  • Advise users on how to access and use digital archives
  • Work with the Head of Archives to manage access, cataloguing, policies, and development of the Digital collection

Requirements:

  • Post-Graduate qualification in Archives and Records Management/Information Management/Archives Administration
  • Experience of developing and implementing a digital catalogue of archive records and managing a digital repository
  • Thorough knowledge of cataloguing requirements and standards
