About the Role

The successful candidate will have a Diploma in Education and Training (DET) or equivalent teaching qualification, as well as a degree and/or current DET. They will have recent Outstanding/Good teaching experience with students with special needs and be able to demonstrate effective planning of educational programmes for adults with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct teaching teams to ensure effective, learner-centred learning opportunities for adults with special needs.
  • Assist the management team in the development of Orchard Hill College and Academy Trust as a professional resource and deliver training opportunities for carers and colleagues internally and externally.
  • Implement appropriate assessment, objective setting, recording, reporting, and evaluation of educational programmes.
  • Communicate effectively with students, carers, and professionals.
  • Initiate development in designated curriculum areas.
  • Manage and direct teaching teams.
  • Coordinate and implement programmes of staff development internally and externally.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Education and Training (DET) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Degree and/or current DET.
  • Recent Outstanding/Good teaching experience with students with special needs.
  • Able to demonstrate effective planning of educational programmes for adults with special needs.
