Electrical Systems Engineer

Lavazza Professional UK is a leading provider of high-performance vending technologies to offices and factory floors across the UK. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and verify new electrical/electronic sub-assemblies, parts, and components, including supporting/affected parts.
- Create and maintain design and manufacturing specifications for new and existing electrical/electronic related products.
- Manage internal electrical/electronic developments from concept to introduction, ensuring adherence to the appropriate process, meeting required specifications, and delivering within agreed cost and time constraints.
- Honours Degree in Electronics.
- Ideal membership of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Engineering Council.
- Sound grounding in electronics theory (analogue, power, and digital).
- Understanding of electrical design theory and practice (up to 230V).
- Understanding of mechatronics as used in vending machines.
- In-depth knowledge of applying theory to real-world solutions.
- Good practical build skills (e.g., soldering) for production of prototype and test rigs.
- Electronics CAD (Altium) skills for schematic and PCB layout.
- Electronic circuit simulation, design analysis, and mathematical modelling tools.
- Competence in use of lab test equipment.
- Knowledge of legal standards and their application.
- Understanding of electronic assembly manufacturing processes.
- Understanding and implementing key business processes for equipment development.
- Creating detailed project/design documents.
- Design for manufacture.
- Able to design wiring looms and harnesses.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal/external partners.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- To create and store design and project output documentation (including any 'due diligence') necessary for future maintenance and support of electrical/electronic related products.
- To create, maintain, and store any specifications necessary for the outsourcing of system design to external partners, and as necessary for interfacing to internal design resource.
- Technical authority to electrical/electronic assembly suppliers for component change in order to protect manufacturing supply chain.
- To provide technical support to resolve quality and supply issues originating with electrical/electronic parts and, if necessary, update design and manufacturing specification(s).
- To collaborate with other departments and project members to achieve the delivery of equipment projects.
