About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Underwriting Team Manager to lead our underwriting team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the team's performance meets high standards while supporting strategic projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the underwriting team, ensuring efficient and effective processes.
  • Review and evaluate reporting and insights to improve team performance.
  • Conduct regular quality assurance of team output and identify training needs.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members as a subject matter expert.
  • Assist in implementing new systems and processes.
  • Support strategic underwriting projects and ensure operational requirements are clear and accurate.
  • Prioritize workloads to meet SLAs and deliver on team objectives.
Requirements
  • Proven underwriting experience in a lending business is essential.
  • Contribute positively to the Admiral culture, ensuring staff are happy and engaged.
  • Have the confidence to challenge existing work practices to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Able to work independently with excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work as processes evolve.
  • Positive outlook and able to demonstrate a positive influence on the team.
  • A strong focus on quality, receptive to feedback, and effective when giving feedback to others.
Desirable Skills
  • Proven experience working in an underwriting management role.
  • Experience with unsecured personal loans, motor finance CIFAS/SIRA loadings, and assessments, as well as Open Banking, would be advantageous.
