Mission Strategist

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to join the Church of England team as a Mission Strategist. Based in Blackburn Diocese, this role will play a vital part in delivering the Vision 2026 initiative and its successor, the Accrington & Burnley Mission Enabler program.

The Mission Strategist will work closely with parish and deanery leaders to develop and implement a strong vision and investment plan for St James, aligned with the wider deanery planning. Key responsibilities include:

• Building strong relationships with ordained and lay church members across Accrington deanery.
• Collaborating with parish and deanery leaders to discern and write funding proposals for SMMI (Strategic Mission and Ministry Investment) initiatives.
• Overseeing the initial implementation of approved plans, which may involve recruitment and capacity building.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A proven track record of leading strategic planning and vision development in complex organizations.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to engage and enthuse others.
• A deep commitment to the Church of England's values and theology.

The Church of England offers a competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. As a practicing Christian involved in regular worship, you will be part of a dynamic team committed to serving the community.
