About the Role

We are seeking two enthusiastic and well-organised individuals to join our busy electoral services team as Electoral Services Administration Assistants. As a key member of our team, you will play a hands-on role in supporting all administrative functions that encourage more residents to participate in the democratic process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the electoral services team, including preparing and processing electoral documents and materials.
  • Assist with the delivery of electoral services, including elections and referenda, and compile and produce the electoral register.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure the smooth delivery of electoral services, including during peak periods.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers and stakeholders, providing a professional, friendly, and polite manner.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new processes and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of electoral services.
Requirements
  • Experience of working in an administrative role, preferably in a local government or electoral services environment.
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work flexible hours during peak election times, including evenings and weekends.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
