Social Work Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Social Work Support Specialist to join our Corus Consultancy team. As a key member of our social work team, you will play a vital role in supporting Social Workers in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children and young people.
Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with social work teams to assess relatives or friends who can provide care for children and young people when their own parents are unable. This will involve conducting evaluations, contacting potential foster carers, and working closely with professionals across the service to ensure the well-being and safety of the children involved.
- Establishing relationships with potential Connected Persons Foster Carers/Special Guardians to discuss the necessary checks and references required for a full Form C assessment.
- Maintaining accurate electronic records and communicating effectively with individuals through various methods.
- Working alongside Social Workers and other professionals, including child care social workers, legal representatives, GPs, and medical advisors, to achieve optimal outcomes for children and young people.
- Conducting meetings with applicants to guide them through paperwork, verify ID for DBS checks, and ensure they possess the required documents and understanding of the process.
To provide high-quality support to Social Workers in ensuring the well-being and safety of vulnerable children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:- Gathering, recording, and analyzing information to fulfill statutory requirements and promote the well-being and interests of children/young people.
- Ensuring the well-being and safety of children/young people through assessments that comply with statutory regulations.
- Providing practical day-to-day support to children and their families as directed.
- Liaising with other professionals and agencies to achieve optimal outcomes for children/young people.
- Accurately documenting, reporting, and communicating using evidence-based information.
You should have strong administration and IT skills, effective communication and relationship skills, clear record-keeping, and time management skills. You must be able to work effectively with colleagues and other agencies, solve problems, negotiate, and make decisions to support the social work team.
This role involves office-based tasks and community work, visiting families. The estimated annual salary for this position is $48,000 - $68,000.
