About the Role

As a Senior Legal Cashier, you will be responsible for providing supervisory support and guidance to a team of legal cashiers. You will work closely with the head cashier to ensure a high level of departmental service is provided. This role is ideal for a finance professional with legal experience or a legal cashier looking for a career advancement opportunity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee a small team of cashroom staff
  • Assist the head cashier and take charge when necessary
  • Train, mentor, and supervise the cashroom team to ensure high performance
  • Ensure adherence to the Law Society of Scotland and SRA Accounts Rules
  • Manage and update data within the firm's Practice Management System
  • Provide audit evidence and ensure compliance in handling client funds
  • Identify and manage risks, with regular reporting
  • Create and document efficient processes and procedures
  • Promote efficiencies and drive continuous improvement within the team
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in a legal cashroom setting
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
  • Strong expertise in financial systems and data reconciliation
  • Proficient in using Practice Management Systems
  • In-depth knowledge of Law Society of Scotland and SRA Accounts Rules
  • Exceptional organisational and staff management capabilities
  • Ability to work autonomously and navigate complex challenges
  • Strong sense of professional responsibility and integrity
