**About the Role:** We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a lovely special school located in Okehampton.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide general classroom support, including one-to-one assistance and small group interventions as needed.
  • Assist the teacher with lesson planning, resource gathering, and activity setup.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students, promoting a secure and supportive environment.
  • Effectively manage student behaviour and address individual needs in accordance with EHCPs.

**Requirements:**

  • Previous experience working with children in the UK, whether in early years, primary, or secondary education.
  • A strong understanding of special educational needs and strategies to support young people.
  • Resilient, adaptable, hardworking, and possess a good sense of humour.
  • A willingness to develop your knowledge and skills further.
  • Ability to adapt to changing plans at short notice.
  • Able to drive and have access to your own vehicle.
